Romanian students awarded at robotics competition in Japan

Romanian students missed the first place at the All Japan Robot-Sumo Tournament, but they won the second, third, and fourth places. The competition took place in Tokyo, Japan, on December 12 and December 13.

Romania participated in the in the category of autonomous robots with three teams: Flex Team and EVO Robotics from Bucharest, and Precision Robotics from Cluj, reports local Agerpres. The three Romanian teams had no less than seven robots in the contest, called Wolf, Shreddinger, Bonfire, Kraft, Wall-E, Rugina, and Pufosenia.

Turkey’s Karot Team won the first place with a robot called Sakin, the Romanian teams winning the following three places: Flex Team with their robot Wolf won the second place, Evo Robotics and the robot Bonfire got the third place, and Flex Team’s robot Shreddinger ended the competition on the fourth place.

The awarded Romanian teams were composed of Adelina Bratu, Adrian Gaspar, Andreea Beciu, Bogdan Istrate, Cristina Teodorescu, Daniela Dobre, Olguta Popescu, Ovidiu Alexandru, Petre Slavescu, Suzana Neacsu, and Teodor Rosca (Flex Team), and Alexandru Rogozan, Alexandru Toma, Ana Maria Radu, Mihaela Gatu, and Octavian Alexandru (Evo Robotics).
