Romanian subsidiaries see capital from parent banks down 76% in nine months

Foreign parent banks have capitalized their subsidiaries in Romania with over EUR 100 million in the first nine months of this year, down 76 percent compared to the same period last year, when the total foreign capital intake amounted to EUR 441 million.

Marfin Bank Romania got the biggest capital intake - EUR 46 million in June, followed by Intesa Sanpaolo Romania, which received EUR 28 million in March. Emporiki Bank Romania increased its capital by EUR 15 million in March. Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) received a contribution of EUR 9.45 million. ProCredit Bank increased its capital by EUR 2.9 million in June, while Libra Internet Bank received EUR 1.36 million, also in June.
