Romanian Syscom 18 lands EUR 3 mln contract for Iraq and Bahrain projects
Romanian company Syscom 18, with activities in industrial automation and measurement systems, received earlier this year two orders consisting in providing metering skids for petroleum products in Iraq and Bahrain. Under the terms of the deal, the Romanian company has to receive EUR 3 million and to deliver the products by the end of this spring.
Irak and Bahrain chose the Romanian company instead of companies from India and Pakistan, which are the main suppliers for liquids measuring systems. „In some segments we compete with multinationals and national companies [...]. The equipment we use is similar to other companies', but we try to win customers with our approach to projects,” said Ion Andronache, the chairman of Syscom 18, and majority shareholder, with 60 percent of the shares.
Established in 1991, Syscom 18 is a Romanian company which specializes in the field of industrial automation equipment and measuring systems. Syscom 18 has about 150 employees and 10 branches all over the country and a total turnover of around EUR 8.4 million in 2010, according to data from the Finance Ministry.
Although still in low quantity, oil and gas applications deployed in the Middle East originating from industrial equipment suppliers in Romania are on an upward trend.
