Romanian team returns with gold, silver medals from Balkan Informatics Olympiad

Romania's team won four medals, two of which gold ones, at the Balkan Informatics Olympiad which took place in Belgrade between August 15 and 19, according to the Romanian Education Ministry. Each of the four contestants in Romania's team came back home with a medal.

Gold medals went to Rareş Darius Buhai, a 9th grade student from Bistrita, and to Radu Ştefan Voroneanu, a 10th grade student in Ploiesti. Two 10th graders from Bucharest, Dan Mihai Gheorghe and Daniel Posdărăscu both won silver medals.

Nine countries sent teams to the 2012 Balkan Informatics Olympiad, where 45 students competed. In 2011, Romania hosted the Olympiad, at Bistrita.
