Romanian toy retailer Noriel ups turnover by 30%

Romanian toy retailer Noriel increased its turnover by 30% last year reaching some EUR 30 million.

The company opened six new large stores in 2015.

It currently owns a network of 47 stores, and it plans to get to 100 units by 2020. The retailer also wants to triple its turnover until then. Some 13 of its stores are located in Bucharest.

In 2015, Noriel focused on opening large stores under the MegaStore format. The stores cover between 750-1,000 sqm, and trade all kinds of products for children. The average investment for a new location amounts to about EUR 500,000.

The retailer also closed some smaller units last year. It also introduced the possibility to order online and pick up the products in any store.
