Romanian UTI to implement a traffic management project in Poland
UTI, a Romanian majority owned group of companies, won the auction to design and implement a traffic management system, organized by the city of Szczecin in Poland, the largest port in the Baltic Sea, according to the company. The project's value is about EUR 1.8 million, and the offer made by the Romanian company received 100 points out of 100.
At the same auction, the other companies that have submitted bids were Peek Traffic in Netherlands, that got 46.65 points out of 100, Sprint SA in Poland (85.55 points), Kapsch in Austria (81.26 points), and Telsiai in Ukraine (73.14 points )
After implementing the project, people in the traffic in the Polish city will be informed in real time about traffic conditions, the time to do distances, road conditions, and detours in case of unforeseen circumstances, according to UTI representatives.
UTI has implemented traffic management systems in the Romanian capital city, and in the city of Craiova, and traffic lights and control systems in Arad, Brasov, Iasi, and Braila.
UTI is a group of companies majority owned by Romanian investors, and is structured as a holding. The company had a turnover of EUR 159 million at the end of 2010, up 26 percent percent from the previous year.
