Romanian violinist Alexandru Tomescu to perform in New Zealand

Romanian violinist Alexandru Tomescu will perform for the first time in New Zealand on November 13 this year. He will play Paganini areas at the Auckland Town Hall – Chamber Concert, using the Stradivarius Elder-Voicu violin.

The concert is named “Paganini, angel or demon?” and besides the performance of Alexandru Tomescu, the audience will also see a multimedia projection made by the Romanian Oana Dragunilescu.

Alexandru Tomescu is a Romanian violinist who has won national and international classic music awards. Since his debut in 1985, he held over 200 concerts and recitals in 26 countries, in famous halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Theatre des Champs Elysees and Theatre Chatelet in Paris, Metropolitan Art Center in Tokyo, in the company of famous conductors like Kurt Masur, Christoph Eschenbach, Philippe Entremont, Valery Gergiev.
