Romanian sells virtual currency trading platform

17 August 2015

Danish company Coinify has acquired the virtual currency trading platform Coinzone, which was founded last year by Romanian IT entrepreneur Radu Georgescu and his partners.

The acquisition will help Coinify expand to countries where Coinzone was active, namely Romania, Poland and the Czech Republic, increasing its customer base by over 20%, reports local Hotnews.ro.

Radu Georgescu founded Coinzone in March 2014, together with Diwaker Singh and Manuel Heilmann. The company, which has its headquarters in the Netherlands, processed its first Bitcoin payment in May last year.

Danish company Coinify has now 8,000 customers online, but the number will increase to 10,000 following the acquisition.
