Romanian wine producer Domeniile Ostrov recorded an increase in business of 150 percent between January and May this year, compared to the same period last year, according to the company.“For the half of this year we expect a turnover of approximately EUR 2.5 million”, said Adrian Treeroiu, National Sales Director of Domeniile Ostrov.

Domeniile Ostrov has invested EUR 24 million since 2005, having put money in replating vineyards, irigation systems, new quipments and modernizing its two wine making stations. For 2011, the wine producer hopes to increase its sales on the HoReCa segment.

Currently, the Ostrov vineyard has an area of 1,300 hectares, and includes the Ostrov and Lipnita wine centers. The main wines in its portfolio are Cetatea Durostorum, Canaraua Fetii, Domeniile Ostrov, Cosa di Vino and Vinaria Ostrov. Domeniile Ostrov is owned by Romanian businessman Horia Culcescu.
