Romanian wine producers can get EUR 238 mln in EU funds

Romania’s wine sector will benefit from some EUR 238.5 million EU funds for the period 2014-2018, according to representatives of the Agriculture Ministry.

Between 2007 and 2013, wine producers in Romania got EUR 252.3 million in EU funds, and fully absorbed these funds.

Most of it was spent on replanting Romanian vineyards. More than 22,000 hectares were replanted with new vines, which had a price tag of EUR 248.6 million.

The rest of the funding helped promote Romanian wines abroad.
