Romanian Alina Ene will go on a bike journey of 139 days to Indonesia. She will travel a total of 14,158 km, of which over 7,200 km by bike.

“In November 2013 we hosted a Russian cyclo-tourist. That’s when I’ve accepted that what I want is to start traveling by bike,” she said in an interview for Travelgirls.ro.

“The direction was given by the fact that I’ve applied to Darmasiswa scholarship granted by the Indonesian state to all the countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia, with the aim to promote local culture and language,” she added.

Over half of the distance will be traveled by bike, while for the rest, she will take the plane or the ferry, according to the itinerary.

Alina Ene plans to start the journey in May and has currently raised EUR 1,200, or 12 percent of the proposed amount, but also has the support of some sponsors.
