24 September 2014

Romanian Radu Hajdu, 30, who was working at a recycling centre in Dublin, Ireland, found EUR 2,775 in a recycling skip. He immediately gave it to his manager and the money was later returned to the owner.

According to Independent.ie, the money belonged to a woman whose father recently died. She had hired the skip to use it for cleaning out her father’s house, but was unaware that she had disposed of his stash by mistake.

“When the Panda (the company where the Romanian was working) people contacted me I couldn’t believe that they had found the money and had the honesty to call me,” said the woman.

Radu Hajdu had just returned to his job in Dublin after a one-week holiday in Romania.
