Romanians ask for damage assessment after November earthquake
About 250 Romanians with compulsory property insurance policies (PAD) have requested damages assessment after the 5.7 magnitude earthquake on November 22, originating from the Vrancea area, according to PAID, the company that issues the PAD policies.
"The earthquake was felt in many parts of the country and was followed by five aftershocks of smaller magnitude. The earthquake was the largest in magnitude in Romania this year and caused more damages," reads a PAID release, cited by local Agerpres.
According to the National Institute for Earth Physics, the towns closest to the epicenter of the earthquake on November 22 are Marasesti (6 km), Galati (22 km), Focsani (21 km), Adjud (25 km) and Onesti(51 km). Galati and Vrancea are the counties with most damage assessment requests, each with 83 requests.
The authorities did not release any information about potential damages after the earthquake, suggesting it did not cause any large damages.
