The sales of hybrid and 100% electric cars in Romania reached 195 units in the first four months of the year, up by 112% year-on-year. The sales of eco cars thus represented 0.7% of the total new car sales.

About 69 eco cars were sold in April this year, up by a third compared to April 2015.

Toyota ranks first among the most popular eco cars in Romania in the first four months of the year, with 116 units sold, up by 153% year-on-year. It was followed by Lexus, with 48 units, up by 200% year-on-year, and BMW, with eight units. No BMW eco cars were sold in Romania during the same period last year.

The total hybrid and 100% ecological cars in Romania last year reached 495, more than double compared to 2014.
