Romanians change their phones every two years
Over 90% of the mobile phone buyers purchase smartphones, and the replacement rate varies between 6 months, for premium devices, to 2 years, for middle- and low-priced models, according to phone & gadget retailer QuickMobile.ro.
More and more customers are willing to pre-order products, namely to pay for a device and wait a few days or even weeks until the actual delivery, said Tudor Tiboc, QuickMobile.ro general manager.
“The biggest surprise at the beginning of the year were the pre-orders of the Apple Watch,” said Tiboc, cited by local Mediafax. In only two weeks, people bought over 300 smartwatches.
About 70% of the customers that purchase mobile phones are men, which prefer devices with a big screen. Some 3 out of the 5 clients that buy smartphone also buy accessories to protect them.
