Romanians who live in villages or small towns could have free access to Internet in parks, central squares, cultural centers, schools, libraries and churches, according to a draft law project which was under public debate until Friday.

Municipalities in every village and town in Romania should provide free wireless networks in public places, reads the bill, reports local Mediafax.

Almost half of Romania’s population lives in rural areas where the access to Internet is reduced in comparison to other countries in the European Union, so the access to free wireless internet in public spaces in vital, according to the draft project.
