Romanians get seven prizes in NASA competition
Several Romanian students from the Andrei Saguna highschool in Brasov recently won seven prizes at an international competition organized by NASA. A total of over 2,700 teams from around the world participated in this competition.
The Romanian seventh graders registered nine projects in the competition and received prizes for seven of them.
The students had to design small artificial planets where people can live. They had to find viable solutions for life sustainability, from technical data to coexistence and social organization.

“Two of the nine projects made by students in the seventh grade got the second prize, one got the third prize, and four of them have won mentions. The three teams that have won prizes will go to the International Conference in Toronto, which will be organized between May 9 and May 24,” said Carmen Tanasescu, the students’ coordinating teacher, cited by local Mediafax.
The most appreciated Romanian projects were Spes Elpida space settlement, CeLex AndRoSar and Coloumbus.
