Romanians spend 17% of their money on taxes
Taxes and contributions accounted for 16.7% of the Romanians’ average monthly expenditures last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The monthly spending reached EUR 190.
Romanians spent most of their money on non-food goods (21.8%), and food and drinks (21.7%). Services accounted for some 19.1% of the expenditure.
In the urban areas, the average monthly expenditure of a person amounted to EUR 217, whereas in villages, it was EUR 160.
