Romanians spend EUR 5 mln to travel to Malta
Romanians spent last year about EUR 5 million to travel to Malta.
The amount will increase by 20-30% in 2015, according to tour operators’ estimations.
The demand for stays at four-star or five-star hotels went up in the last season, especially among young newlyweds and families with children.
For a seven-day holiday at a five-star hotel in Malta, a Romanian tourist pays on average EUR 1,700, said Mark Neville Faruggia, director Malta Travel.
About 35% of tourists have chosen the five-star travel packages, whereas half have chosen the special offers or the Senior Travel program. The price for this program starts at EUR 299 per person, including the seven-day stay, airplane ticket and accommodation.
