Romanians want to learn how to save money

A third of Romanians want to learn how to save on the long term, according to a GfK study. One in ten Romanians save over EUR 200 per month, whereas three in ten people manage to save something every month.

The economic crisis changed the Romanians’ financial habits. Before the boom, people were more oriented towards taking loans, whereas afterwards they’ve started saving more, reports local Profit.ro. In August this year, people had deposits of some EUR 32 billion, almost double compared to the same month in 2008.

The long-term saving is the Romanians’ main concern when they seek financial information, according to the GfK study.

In Europe, a third of the respondents said that they were interested how to manage their daily budget, whereas 23% said they wanted to learn how to save.
