Romania’s annual inflation rate stable in October, while food and services prices up
Consumer prices in Romania went up 0.3 percent month-on-month in October this year, while prices of food and services tariffs increased 0.5 percent each, according to the country’s National Statistics Office INS.
Meanwhile, the annual inflation rate held steady at 1.88 percent.
The biggest price increase in food items was recorded for potatoes - up 8.91 percent in October against the previous month, followed by eggs - up 8.75 percent month-on-month.
Compared to September 2013, the prices of non-food goods went up 0.1 percent, according to the data provided by INS.
Romania’s Central Bank BNR has recently revised down its inflation forecast for this year, from 3.1 percent to 1.8 percent, but also for the end of 2014 - from 3.1 percent to 3 percent.
