Romania's ASF president to lead committee in EU financial markets watchdog
The head of Romania’s Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) Misu Negritoiu was appointed president of the Committee for Economic Analysis and Market within the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), with a two-year term.
The Committee for Economic Analysis and Market consists of representatives of the authorities that regulate and supervise the capital market in the European Union. The committee tries to identify the main risks and vulnerabilities in the financial markets, and carries out cost-benefit analyses of the initiatives aimed at regulating and supervising the markets.
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) was set up in 2011.
