Romania's Baneasa airport reorganization studies to cost almost EUR 0.5 million

11 July 2011

The Bucharest National Company Airports (CNAB) plans to conduct a feasibility study worth EUR 450,000 to reorganize the International Airport Aurel Vlaicu (also known as Baneasa). CNAB will organize an auction for services to draft pre-feasibility, feasibility and economic-financial assessment studies, according to the company.

The contract will be financed the company's own sources and be given a one year-term. The maximum term for the drafting of the pre-feasibility study is two months since the signing of the contract, the term for economic assessment is one month since the signing thereof, while the term for the feasibility study is three months since the final reception of the economic-financial assessment. Offers can be submitted until August 17, and the selection criteria will be the most advantageous offer in economic terms.

At the end of last year, the Romanian Transport Minister Anca Boagiu said that Baneasa Airport will be converted until 2012-2013 into a business and VIP unit, while low-cost airlines would be moved to the Otopeni Airport.
