Romania’s car fleet reached a total of 5.98 million vehicles in 2013, up some 5 percent year-on-year, according to the data provided by the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration DRPCIV.

From the total number of cars, some 4.6 million are passenger cars.

Around 2.8 million cars in Romania’s fleet are older than 12 years, while some 1.2 million have between 9 and 12 years.

Over 1.4 million cars have between 5 and 8 years, while some 421,000 have less than 5 years, according to DRPCIV data.

The number of motorcycles in the national fleet decreased year-on-year, to some 25,200 units in 2013.
