New car and commercial vehicle sales on the Romanian market increased by 32.4 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2014, to over 47,000 units, according to data from the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association APIA, cited by Agerpres.

For passenger cars, the increase was of 35.7 percent, from 28,964 units in the first six months of 2013, to 39,290 units this year. Bus sales increased by 272.4 percent, to 108 units, while the sales of minibuses grew 10.3 percent to 589 units.

According to APIA, the sales on the Romanian market are supported by company acquisitions (72 percent of the volume registered in the first half of the year).
