Romania's Cash-for-Bangers program to begin in mid-April
Romania's Cash-for-Bangers (Rabla) program for 2016 could begin in mid-April, according to sources in the Environment Ministry.
The program will have an initial budget of EUR 45 million, similar to the one from last year. However, it will include two new components, namely one for buying electric cars and one for powering them, reports local Wall-street.ro. The overall budget will thus be bigger.
Last year, about 25,000 vouchers were issued through the Rabla program, 20,000 of them for individuals and 5,000 for companies.
In exchange for discarding an old car, people get a discount of RON 6,500 (EUR 1,500) for buying a new car.
