Romania's Cash-for-Bangers program to start mid-March
Romania's Cash-for-Bangers (Rabla) program could begin in mid-March, said Gratiela Gavrilescu, Environment Minister.
The program’s budget amounts to EUR 45 million this year, up 33% over 2014.
The Romanian Cash-for-Bangers program allows people who own old cars to scrap the vehicle and receive a voucher in exchange, that can be used when buying a new car.
The scrapping premium will stay at about EUR 1,500 in 2015, same as last year. Those who want to buy an ecological car will receive an extra bonus, which has increased threefold, from RON 500 (EUR 112) last year to RON 1500 (EUR 337).
“We hope we will be able to finance about 25,000 vouchers, 20,000 of them for individuals,” the Minister added, cited by local Hotnews.ro.
