Romania's Court of Accounts brings local budgets EUR 1.1 bln
The Romanian Court of Accounts conducted last year 2,723 controls, following which local budgets will receive some EUR 1.1 billion.
Financial audits accounted for 60% of all checks, performance audits for 25%, and documentation actions for 2%.
During the 2,723 controls, the institution found over 25,500 cases with budget and financial issues.
Some EUR 607.1 million of the EUR 1.1 billion the state will receive come from removing infringements on budget revenues, whereas EUR 539.6 million come from removing infringements on public expenses.
