Romania car brand Dacia Duster, produced by French carmaker Renault, was the best sold car brand in New Caledonia in the first two months of 2012, according to bestsellingcarsblog.com. Dacia Duster outranked the Ford Ranger, which has been leading sales since 2009, in Dacia's furthest flung export market .

New Caledonia is an archipelago in the southwest Pacific Ocean, 1,500 kilometers east of Australia and about 20,000 kilometers from France. With a population of around 250,000, New Caledonia is Dacia Renault's farthest export destination. It takes 45 days for a shipment from the Dacia Logistics Center to reach the dealership in New Caledonia.

Dacia recently launched the Duster Prestige model, which sells for EUR 13,900 to EUR 17,600.
