Romania's dairy exports increase but are still only a quarter of the import level
Romania imported EUR 75.7 million worth of milk and dairy products in the first four months of 2012, which was around 5 percent lower than in the same period of last year, according to data from the country's Agriculture Ministry.
The country imported 74,700 tonnes of milk and dairy products, 10.4 percent less than in the same period of 2011.
Exports went up to 11,300 tonnes, from 8,700 tonnes in the same period of 2011, while the value of exports was of EUR 19.1 million, almost double the EUR 10.5 million in the first four months of last year.
