Romania's economy increases by 0.3% in second quarter, industrial activity up
Romania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dropped in the first half of 2010 by 2.4 percent, compared with the first half of 2009, but registered a 0.3 percent increase in the second quarter of 2010 on this year's first quarter, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Compared to the second quarter of last year, the GDP dropped by 0.5 percent in Q2 this year.
The industry was the branch that registered the highest growth in the volume of activity, up 5.9 percent. Slight increases in the activity were also recorded in agriculture, hunting and forestry, fisheries and fish farming.
