Romania's Electrica, Hidroelectrica and Romgaz can invest in Moldovan companies
Romanian companies Electrica, Hidroelectrica and Romgaz can afford to invest in Moldovan state-owned companies that will be privatized in the next period, economy minister Costin Borc said on Friday.
“I would encourage all the Romanian investors to take part in the privatization process that the Moldovan Government will carry out,” the minister said, reports local Agerpres.
He explained that Moldovan state-owned companies of various sizes will be privatized starting December. Romanian state-controlled companies such as Electrica, Hidroelectrica, and Romgaz have “a formidable reservoir of cash and can afford to make large-scale investments.” Borc also said that he would encourage the smaller companies to make investments in Moldovan enterprises.
Romania will take part in designing a part of the Ungheni-Chisinau pipeline, and hopefully, it will also participate in its construction and operation, the minister added. Romanian gas transporter Transgaz is interested in this project.
