Romania's exports continue to grow in February for second month in a row, trade deficit narrows
Romania's exports continued to grow in February, reaching EUR 3.4 billion while imports posted a lower growth rate when compared to the growth rate the month before. Exports went up by 36.4 percent in EUR compared to the same period of last year, while imports grew by 20.9 percent in EUR, to EUR 3.88 billion, according to data from the National Statistics Office. Exports grew by 47.8 percent in January this year compared to January last year, while imports, by 29.4 percent, when expressed in EUR.
In total, Romania exported products worth EUR 6.9 billion in the first two months of the year, while it imported products worth EUR 7.5 billion. The country's trade deficit went down by 48 percent during these first two months, to EUR 582 million, compared to the same period of last year.
