Romania’s food and livestock exports, up by 12%
Romania’s food and livestock exports totaled over EUR 1.1 billion in the first four months of this year. They increased by 12.6% compared to the same period last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
The imports amounted to over EUR 1.4 billion in this period, up 13.6% year-on-year.
The international trade with food and live animals recorded a deficit of EUR 253 million, up 18.7%. The food industry employed about 157,000 people at the end of April. The gross average salary in this sector amounted to EUR 254.
