Romania's Foreign Affairs Ministry: no Romanian killed in Japan quake

No Romanian has been injured or died in the earthquakes that hit Japan over the past two days, according to Romania’s Foreign Affairs Ministry. The Sendai Emergency Center informed the embassy that three Romanians are at a local evacuation shelter and safe. Romania's Embassy in Tokyo is in touch with local and central authorities.

According to official data, hundreds of people died and nearly one thousand were reported missing in Japan. About 210,000 people have been evacuated from costal areas and 37,000 from areas near the Fukushima nuclear plant, where an explosion occurred Saturday.
