Romania’s GDP revised slightly upwards in Q2
Romania’s National Statistics Institute (INS) revised upwards the value of the GDP for the second quarter of the year compared to the preliminary data published one month ago, but kept the growth pace at the level previously indicated of 6% compared to the same period last year.
The value of the GDP amounted to EUR 39.7 billion in the second quarter, in gross terms. The data published by INS on September 6 had indicated a GDP of EUR 39.2 billion.
The Romanian economy grew by 6% in the second quarter of the year compared to the same months in 2015. It is the biggest growth rate recorded from 2008. Compared to the previous quarter, the economy increased by 1.5% in real terms.
In the first quarter the economy went up by 4.3% and in the first half the growth was 5.2%.
