Romania’s GDP, up by 10% due to EU funds
Romania’s GDP grew by over 10% between 2009 and 2015, due to the European funds invested in the economy, said yesterday the EU Funds Minister Aura Raducu.
The investments in the local economy rose by 25% during this period due to the EU funds. European funds financed some 20-25% of the total investments carried out in Romania.
The EU funds also had an impact on the number of jobs that rose by 3.8% between 2009 and 2015, said the Minister.
The private consumption went up by over 19% due to European funds whereas the salaries grew by 25%.
Romania’s EU funds absorption rate amounted to 78.7% for the 2007-2013 programming period, Raducu added.
