Romania's Government could cut taxes by year-end
Romania could start cutting taxes this year while keeping to a 2015 fiscal deficit target of 1.8% agreed with the International Monetary Fund, said Prime Minister Victor Ponta, cited by Reuters.
In the second part of the year, the Government wants to start initial public offerings for Romania's largest electricity producer Hidroelectrica, the Maritime Ports Administration Constanta and the Bucharest Airports National Company. The state could list 15%-25% of these companies’ shares.
In February, the Government announced its plans to cut taxes. Romania will convince the IMF that these reductions are sustainable, Ponta said.
