Romania's Govt. sets up new fiscal institution to manage large taxpayers

Romania’s Government plans to set up the general directorate for managing large taxpayers, which will be subordinated to the president of the Tax Agency ANAF, according to a draft government decision. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recommended this measure in August.

ANAF will also have a new department for foreclosure in special cases, which will coordinate the foreclosure actions, as well as the recovery of the seized assets.

The Government has allocated the Tax Agency 1,000 new positions, within the new foreclosure department.
