Romania’s households save EUR 52 per month
The households in Romania saved on average EUR 52 monthly in 2014, which represented 9.3% of the total household revenues.
The employees’ households saved on average 10.5% of their income, the pensioners’ households saved 10.7%, whereas the farmers saved 3%. The unemployed’s households spent more than their revenues, recording a deficit of 0.8%.
The households with several children, or the ones that consisted of several persons, saved less.
The difference between income and expenditure of rural households was 6.2% in 2014, whereas in the urban areas, the difference amounted to 11.1%.
