The Ice Hotel near Balea Lake in Fagaras Mountains is fully booked for the winter holidays period. The hotel, the only one of this kind in South-Eastern Europe, is not yet completely built. It will open on December 23.

Bernhard Moestl, the marketing director of the hotel, said all rooms and igloos are already booked for the December 23 – December 31 period.

The hotel will have 14 rooms and 6 igloos. A double room at the hotel costs EUR 100 per night, while the accommodation in an igloo, where six people can sleep, costs EUR 150 per night.

This year, the hotel is built around the theme of music, and tourists will find in their rooms ice sculptures of local and international stars such as Madonna, Prince, Elvis Presley or Freddie Mercury.

The ice hotel is built for the 13th time this year.

Several local and international stars visited the hotel in recent years. Among them were Jean-Claude Van Damme, Romanian actress Maia Morgenstern or former Romanian footballer Helmut Duckadam.
