Romania's industrial sales up 12% last year, new industry orders record growth

Romania's industrial sales went up by 12 percent last year, mostly due to growth in the manufacturing industry, according to data from the National Statistics Institute. The mining industry took a nosedive of 5.3 percent last year on 2009.

Most of large industry segments witnessed sales increases. December last year brought an overall sales increase of 19.4 percent, compared to the same month of 2009. Compared to the month before, the industrial sales in Romania were however down 4.9 percent.

New industry orders were also up by 26.3 percent last year. Intermediate goods, capital goods, long term use goods and household goods- all these segments recorded growth in new orders.
