Romania's industrial production goes up 0.8% in February
Romania’s industrial production rose by 0.8% in February compared to the same month of 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The manufacturing industry grew by 2.3% as a gross series. The mining and quarrying industry dropped by 17.4% whereas the production and supply of energy went down by 7.5%.
In the first two months of the year, the industrial production was 0.5% lower compared to the same period of 2015, despite an 0.5% increase in the manufacturing industry. The mining industry was down by almost 15% and the energy output declined by 5%.
Romania’s industrial turnover went up by 6.6% in February 2016 compared to February 2015, and by 2.2% in the first two months of this year, INS data also shows.
