Romania’s industrial production returns to growth
Romania was among the EU countries whose industrial production rose in June when compared to the previous month. It recorded an advance of 2% in its industrial production, after a drop of 4.2% in May, according to EU’s statistical office Eurostat.
In the European Union the industrial production rose by 0.5% in June compared to the previous month, and by 0.6% in the euro zone.
Ireland saw the biggest industrial production increase, namely 7.1%, followed by Bulgaria (3.9%), and Greece (3.8%). Estonia recorded the biggest drop in its industrial production, amounting to -3.1%. Hungary and Malta also saw decreases.
As for the annual results, Romania recorded a 1.2% decrease in the industrial production compared to June 2015.
In the EU, the industrial production was 0.5% higher in June 2016 compared to the same month last year.
