Romania’s industry loses 300,000 jobs
Romania’s industry had 1.3 million employees in 2014, some 300,000 fewer compared to 2008, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The textile industry lost the highest number of jobs, some 70,000, in six years. The metal constructions industry lost 30,500 jobs, the furniture industry – 21,600, and the metallurgical industry – 20,300, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
However, the automotive industry added close to 29,000 jobs in the same period.
