Romania's largest lender sets EUR 110 mln ceiling for First House program

BCR, Romania’s largest bank, has received a EUR 110 million limit for the First House (Prima Casa) program and will provide 7,500 new loans under this program.

“We will use this cap entirely and we’ll need an additional one by the end of the year,” said Ioana Mihai, Head of the Secured Loans Division within BCR.

The bank granted about 6,000 credits last year and 38,000 loans since the onset of the program in 2009.

The state guarantee ceiling for the First House mortgage lending program is of RON 2.5 billion (EUR 556.35 million) for this year.
