BCR, the largest local bank based on the assets, wants to open ten units per year in the next years.

The lender currently has 511 local agencies. It has reorganized all its small units, and it’s currently undergoing the transformation of the large agencies. The bank plans to launch units with a digital concept.

BCR opened yesterday its first digital agency, in the Victoriei Square, in Bucharest. The unit will provide multifunctional equipment, such as interactive desks and video counseling.

The online banking market has been growing in the last years, according to BCR representatives cited by local Mediafax. The increase, however, has not been aggressive, and it oscillates between an advance of one and two digits.
