22 October 2013

Romanian lender EximBank has moved its Bucharest branch and its headquarters to Kiseleff Palace, located on Barbu Stefanescu Delavrancea street in the capital city, the bank has announced.

“The change of location came in the context of strategic management decisions based both on optimizing working flows and reducing operating costs,” reads a statement of the bank.

According to Traian Halalai (in picture), President of EximBank, “the relocation of the bank’s headquarters was an option that also emerged in the past, but the conditions on the real estate market are now at their best in order to make this change”.

EximBank registered a gross profit of around EUR 6.8 million (almost RON 30 million) in the first half of this year, almost double the level of the entire 2012, based on the increase of the banking income by almost 5 percent as compared to the similar period of the previous year and the reduction of the operational costs by almost 15 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, the bank has opened four new agencies in the country, expanding its network to 16 units located in Bucharest, Bacau, Brasov, Buzau, Constanta, Cluj, Craiova, Deva, Galati, Iasi, Oradea, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Targu Mures, Timisoara and Sibiu.
