Romania's milk production goes up 13%, milk imports rise by 36%
The amount of milk bought by local processors from abroad increased by 36% in February 2016 compared to the same month of last year, reaching over 13,100 tons.
The quantity of milk delivered by local producers totaled over 68,500 tons, up by 13.5% year-on-year, reports local Profit.ro.
In January the milk production reached 62,000 tons, up 5.6% compared to January 2015.
The local cheese production went up by 35.4% in February this year compared to February 2015 whereas the cream production rose by 13.3% year-on-year.
The production of yoghurt increased by 8.5% in February compared to the same month in 2015.
