Romania's Ministry of Health asks for higher budget in 2015

26 November 2014

The Ministry of Health has asked for a higher budget in 2015, which would give room to new health programs, including genetic testing for cancer, said Health Minister Nicolae Banicioiu. The health budget was of EUR 992 million in 2014.

"The budget for national health programs is very important, and we hope for an extra growth from EUR 166 million in 2014 to EUR 198 million in 2015, to eliminate gaps and dysfunction," said Banicioiu, cited by local Mediafax.

Resuming the in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs, testing hearing loss in newborns or genetic testing for cancer are among the newly announced national health programs.
